Results from the Management Success! Seminar
I have owned Exclusive Auto for the last 15 years, during this time I have seen the some of the worst times and best times in my life as a shop owner.
I used to just crumple and toss the mailers from Mike Lee to attend the shop owner "How To Increase Your Profits!" Seminar. Then one day I pulled it back out of the trash and decided this was my last chance at fixing my business. I was sick of everything at Exclusive Auto, the employees, the customers and the business as a whole. Everything seemed to be controlling me, I was working 6-7 days a week, 70-80 hours a week. I was ready to just close up shop and head back to the Mercedes dealership where I had come from.
The first thing I thought when I returned from the weekend Seminar was "Wow! I wish someone had told me about this stuff years ago." I learned vital and basic concepts in how to manage and run a shop profitably. There were so many things I wasn't doing as an owner that with just some basic tweaks I could start seeing results right away. I realized that knowing how to fix a car doesn't always mean you know how to run a business.
Now I am a much more relaxed person, I work just 3 and 1/2 days a week and have time to volunteer and take time to pursue my diving hobby. When I used to leave the shop for any period of time I would get phone calls every hour with this or that problem. Now I leave and don't get a single call, my staff is well trained and the shop is setup and organized like a well tuned motor.
